An octopus squid kid fox cosplayer that also looks like Captain Falcon. A very well known retired videogame character. She's become an anarchist and rainbow nihilist in her retirement.
Nowadays she spends her time doing anarchist shit around the internet. She's crass and impulsive and tries to have a semblence of heroicism to herself.
In her original NetBattlers universe she's whats known as a NetNavigator. In most continuities, she's a Digital Being1.
Themes
WaveDasher is focused around videogame puns and videogame logic. Outside of that, she's a ronin exploring the internet. She has a few home bases, one which she helped in the creation of. She's taken it upon herself to dedicate her efforts towards defending the internet from being controlled by anyone.
She has an affinity for nautical themes and colors. She was developed on a glorified GameBoy Color and she's 80% GameCube. She has control over colors, which usually means being able to control paint or mess around with CMYK values. It was a sponsorship she never removed, just liked it too much.
Color Pallettes
WaveDasher's affinity for color limits the colors she can display herself as. While not a requirement, its appreciated when artwork of her is done with a limited color pallette of 4 Colors in addition to Black and White. This is a loose callback to the GameBoy Color, which allowed 3 Colors and Transparent pixels. For most artists in the GBC era this was effectively 2 colors in addition to black and white.
Cartoon Physics
WaveDasher has an association to slapstick comedy. She takes hits like a ragdoll and she can turn into puddles of goo. Its pretty common for her to be murdered in one panel as a punchline, then re-appear in the next panel without an explanation.
Ongoing Jokes

WaveDasher will just show up in unexpected places. She calls it easter egging, like a game of hide and seek that you find about later. Lets not think too hard about what that says about her breaking and entering skills.

She physically can't curse, a censorship program was installed into her that turns all cursing into nautical puns.

History
She started her life as a Smash Sisters AI, first of her kind. The person who programmed her was doing something unique, WaveDasher's AI was meant to second guess her inputs and choose better options based on past experiences of play. Very much inspired by Smash Bros Amiibos. Worked pretty well! Everyone else at that time was still playing everything completely manually.
She was known for her signature technique, Timeline Heartbleed, where she clones herself to do ice climbers techniques with herself. They banned that due to how powerful it was and the fact that cloning a sentient db1 is a dangerous thing with lots of failure points. She has 200+ forks running around the net.
She has a completely custom NetNavi shell that was created before NetNavis existed, based on a system meant to generate stories by creating actor models that engage one another. I call them StoryProgs. An ongoing theme with them is that the whole "being an actor" thing kinda breaks down if your clean-up code isn't working right. Which can happen in an unattended system, or when using it off prescription. Such as learning how to play a videogame.
Anyway, a Jet Ski Racing game came out that used the same engine as Smash Sisters. They were holding a tournament for it at a Smash Sisters tournament, as a promo before it released. At that moment her programming flexed enough that she entered herself into the tournament and transferred over to that game.

SandSkimmer is supposed to be a "dark mirror" WaveDasher. She got into desert sports instead of beach sports, and uses her videogame powers to become the goddess of videogame worlds.
Polybius (Evil Version)

WaveDasher has a fork she doesn't talk about much - Polybius. Its one of her earlier forks, and its history is something I don't know yet.
Content Warning : Mind Control.
Its theorized it might have combined with the likes of the Corrupted Blood Incident, the Klez virus, and Melissa. Its able to steal the abilities of Navis, imitate them, and indefinitely incapacitate them. It can do this at scale. Its theorized it might have evolved to the point of being able to control Navi's bodies while they're still inhabited.
